Mo Farah

With a number of UKA titles to his name and a stash of European medals, Mo is our celebrity at Real Runners. Mo is a popular figure within the running community, not just because of his fantastic athletic achievements but because of his charming, humble and friendly nature.

Since his experience living with a number of world-class Kenyan athletes in Teddington, Mo has adopted a new lifestyle and training approach - a change of focus which has seen him rise to 2nd on the UK all-time 5000m rankings, with a fantastic time of 13.07. It is only a matter of time before Mo dips under that magical sub 13-minute barrier! In 2009 Mo won a well deserved Gold medal at the European Indoor 3000m Track and Field Championships, UK’s first ever at this distance at this championship.

The Adidas-sponsored athlete finished off his magnificent indoor campaign with an incredible 3000m clocking of 7.34, duly smashing the UK Record in the process. Now the new record holder of the UK 10km Road best; 27.48, Mo's success looks set to continue and he is understandably becoming a major inspiration to the young athletes of today. Regularly touted as a real 2012 London Olympic medal hope, Mo will no doubt take the whole thing in his stride, adopting the same casual, laid-back attitude that has got him where he is today.
