Andy Vernon
There is no question that Andy is one of Britain’s most exciting and brightest talents. An international junior athlete, Andy has currently made an impressive transition to the senior ranks, as he showed when he won the Gold medal at the 2008 Aviva Olympic 5000m Trials. This was backed up by a fine cross country season, where he led home the Great Britain U23 team at the European Cross Country Championships, winning a bronze individual medal.
Andy studies Sport Science at St. Mary’s University and his boundless enthusiasm and energy make him very popular at local schools, where he is encouraging extra participation at the grass roots level of athletics.
Andy is a fine example of what can be achieved through hard work and dedication, something we hold high on our educational programme requirements.
